How old do you have to be to use the gym?
You need to be 14 to use the facilities.
Can I pay-as-you-go to use the gym and if so what does it cost?
Yes, a pay-as-you-go session costs ÂŁ6. See our membership page for more details.
Do I have to join the sports centre for a year?
No – we have flexible membership options. You can join on a monthly basis (no contract needed) or Pay As You Go. See our membership page for details.
Can I hire the WSCC for a birthday party?
Yes! Talk to our staff about hiring the ground floor meeting room and kitchen for any social occasion.
Who owns the WSCC?
Wellesbourne & Walton Parish Council owns the building and has leased it to a separate charity, Wellesbourne Sports and Community Centre, to manage.
What happens to the WSCC’s profits?
As a charity, the WSCC operates on a not-for-profit basis. Any surpluses the WSCC makes will be reinvested into improving the centre and the services it offers.
Is the WSCC only for sporty people?
Not at all! The WSCC is a Community Centre as well as a Sports Centre. The meeting rooms can be hired for all kinds of activities and events, from coffee mornings to hobby groups, that are of interest to all ages. The WSCC will also be taking part in village events during the year, which cater for everyone and don’t involve sport.
Are you charging more for gym membership because Wellesbourne is a village?
Not at all; the cost of gym membership reflects the cost of running the centre and providing a high standard of facilities, without charging a high profit margin as a commercial company would do. The cost compares very favourably with other local centres and we regularly review pricing to ensure it stays that way.
Why are you still asking for donations?
Opening the gym and the MUGA is just the first phase of the WSCC’s development. We also plan to refurbish the first floor stretch room and build a sports hall on the site. The WSCC will need to finance all these projects from grants and donations large and small, which is why we are actively fund-raising and appreciate all support.
